Step 1. Download "The ARENA" application

"The Arena" is the free PC appliation that provides an interface to play online multiplayer games, chat to other gamers playing in "The Arena" and download all games files and updates.



 

Step 2. Choose which game to play

Over 40 online games are suported - you will already need to own or purchase these games, or test it out beforehand by downloading one of our 10 Free Games!

Step 3. Join an online game or find a team

When you have the game installed and "The Arena" running, find a game and play with others or join a team and find a battle.

Step 4. Jump on a "ladder" or book a "game server"

What's a Ladder
A ladder is a round robbin competition for a particular game. The ladder competitions usually run for 3 months and involve 8 teams. You must be in a team to join a ladder.

What's a game server?
A Game Server is the computer which you log into to play a game with other individuals or teams. Each person in the game must log into the same server to see each other.

EA and DICE today officially released the v1.40 patch for Battlefield 2142. After a lengthy period of beta testing, v1.40 is now the definitive version so you'll need to update to continue playing online.

A new patch for Battlefield 2142 has been released, taking EA's popular sci-fi shooter to version 1.25. There's a stack of fixes for various bugs and exploits; you can check out the full list and download the patch now locally from GameArena. The servers have been upgraded so you'll need the new patch to play.

EA have released a new patch for Battlefield 2142, taking the popular futuristic shooter to verson 1.20. Download the full patch locally from GameArena! Here's the change log:

- Czech Republic flag is corrected
- Limited consol editing of controlmap
- Corrected stats for PK-74 AR-rocket in BFHQ
- Fixed PDS-1 sonar system interference with UAV
- Heal and repair points awarded after a 50% heal/repair instead of 100%
- Increased security for EA account login
- Fixed tracking of hours with the medic hub in BFHQ
- Fixed server crash involving Coop mode
- Fixed Squad leader drone exploit
- Fixed Rorsch Mk-S8 crosshair misalignment
- Out of bounds now kill immediately instead of doing gradual damage
over 15 seconds
- Added server side option to disallow titan movement
- Optimized rendering of Titans
- Fixed exploit using the reactor core door
- Correct message is now shown when trying to join a full server
The GameArena servers have been updated so you'll need the new patch to play.

EA have released another clip from Northern Strike, the upcoming booster pack for Battlefield 2142 due for online purchase next month. The 90 second clip shows off more of the new equipment on offer being put to use in the pack's snow-covered environments. Check it out, right here from GameArena files.

BigPond GameArena's Battlefield 2142 ladder kicks off next Monday February 5th at 9:00pm ADST (Syd/Mel time). Registration and all participation details can be found right here in our ladders section. It will remain in freeplay until go-live time on Monday so get your teams signed-up and ready to go.
